  Infidelity amongst JWs

  does there seem to be a higher incidence of infidelity amongst the jws?.

  my brother, who is an active jw and ministerial servant, has an elder friend who was recently disfellowshipped for having an affair with another sister in the hall.

  it turns out this sister was divorced a few years earlier from a "worldly" man who had an affair on her.

  Anytime you have children marrying each other just to have sex you are going to see mass infidelities after 10 years because of sheer curiosity. Welcome to growing up JW. Looking around seeing every other dysfunctional family or marriage 5 times a week is no positive reinforcement either.

  Waco Mini-Series on Netflix. Powerful and Scary.

  so we binge-watched the waco mini-series on netflix.. wow, what a powerful and enlightening programme!

  even if you think you know what happened, it gives you extra context to it all.

  it's very well done even if you just want a great drama series, but it's way more than that.. there are of course some dramatization and slight historical inaccuracies for the purpose of story-telling but it was very informative.

  We can keep our 2nd amendment rights forever and have all the guns we want, go off grid, create compounds, etc. If the federal government uses the military to carry out its wishes you will see Waco repeated over and over.

  The sobering question everyone needs to ask themselves is would making a stand against the government work?

  There are examples when citizens have come together in force and made a difference. But once escalated to violence? See Waco.

  Owning guns and being willing to use them against the government or military forces brings no comfort to most of us who own guns. It should not even be the compelling reason to have guns.

  That is a battle that if ever got off the ground would end up one way. Every citizen dead or hiding including women and children.

  The bigger the force assembled against the US government the bigger the response would be. The US government is so adept at controlling the masses they see fit to exercise their techniques regularly on the rest of the world.

  Freedom is an illusion. That is why 90% of US citizens have placed themselves under house arrest for 3 months, many allowing themselves to be driven into poverty and likely homelessness when it becomes clear they will never pay their debt for not paying rent or mortgage, many who applied for financial assistance and will never see a dime.

  And then lets look at California who implemented stay-at-home orders prior to anyone and now dead-set on leaving those orders indefinitely when "the curve" has barely even gotten off the ground and not going anywhere.

  80,000 hospital beds and at the "peak"(according to all the expert/failure model builders) & we only needed 2,000 beds.

  Response to Covid 19 was grotesquely exaggerated and the lasting damage to people's everyday life(and literal life) and trillions of dollars wasted for the 5th greatest economy in the world is unforgivable.

  Blanket lockdowns are a complete joke and a disaster like has never been seen before.

  Fuck Newsom, Fuck Garcetti, Fuck Ferrer. They all need to GTFO.

  Weekly Meeting Importance Being Reduced - Your Thoughts?

  i am pimo, but now have 40+ years of being a jw as i was raised in a 3rd generation family of witnesses and continue to fake my way through things - fading as i can.. for the vast majority of my time as a jw, the meetings were the central focus for all jws to get teaching, association, information and so on.

  nothing was more important than being at the meetings!

  over the last 20 years starting with the elimination of the weekly book study in homes and continuing down to today - my opinion is that the value/purpose of the weekly meetings continues to be diluted or minimized.

  Meetings are important to the GB as ever. Liabilities shut down home book studies/meetings for field service.

  Meetings are losing their importance to the rank & file. The internet has put a chill on hearts and a blue sign on every KH. Seats are empty. Enthusiasm wanes. Socializing is no fun with fake people pretending they are happy. Paradise is lost forever around the corner that never comes.

  Information has always been second hand at the meetings. Never an original thought. Every minute was/is based on the mad scribbling of the writing department months or years ago.

  Kingdom Halls are no longer Jehovah’s house, they are real estate tokens to be traded when the time is right. All the little sheep know this. Looking around seeing all the POMOS & PIMIS and fakers, faders, freeloaders, no wonder they dread going to meeting.
